Last month, the Detroit se-
nior citizen attended a fitness
day in Oak Park, co-spon-
sored by the Jewish Commu-
nity Center and Jewish
Federation Apartments.
About 35 participants en-
gaged in warm-up exercises.
Then some jogged around the
JCC's outdoor track. Several
walked. Still others pushed
area seniors in wheelchairs.
"It's important that older
Americans stay active," said
23-year-old Reva Nelson, a
JFA Project STaR intern,
who organized the event with
Sharon Ross.
