The inner circle of the Lyric
Chamber Ensemble presents
Star Search, the third annual
event to "Adopt a Young Musi-
cian" to attend summer music
camp. Michael and Bunny
Kratchman will host an after-
noon of entertainment provid-
ed by Marcus Belgrave Jazz
Trio and former scholarship stu-

ART FESTIVAL

The West Bloomfield Cham-
ber of Commerce and Henry
Ford Medical Center will host
the West Bloomfield Art Festi-
val June 24-25 at Henry Ford
Medical Center in West Bloom-
field. The festival will feature
more than 200 juried artists and
craftsmen from more than 30
states. Stan Megdall is one of
the local artists.
In addition to the visual arts,
there will be entertainment for
children. Howard Alan, of Plan-
tation, Fla., is helping to plan the
event. He has planned the Boca
Fest, Las Olas Art Fair and
downtown Delray Festival of the
Arts and Artfest.

ART NOTES

The Hill Gallery has a new lo-
cation on Brown Street in down-
town Birmingham.
Duke Gallery will feature the
work of Ohio furniture craftsman
Paul Kemner June 29 through
July 27. The exhibit is part of
the benefit for the Midwest Aids
Prevention Project (MAPP). The
Bunting Gallery, the Cement
Space, Habatat/Shaw Gallery
and David Klein Gallery are also
part of MAPP.
The DL& is offering summer
art classes for children of all ages
and all skills in the month of
July. For more information, call

The International Freedom
Festival Fireworks is scheduled

cored and diced
1 tbsp. sugar

In a saucepan, combine shredded cabbage with all other ingre-
dients, except apples. Cover and cook over moderate heat for 15
minutes, tossing several times so the cabbage will cook evenly.
Add apples, and toss again. Cover, and cook 5 minutes longer.
Add sugar.
If more water is needed during cooking, add two or three table-
spoons, but when the dish is done, all moisture should have been
cooked away.
