The annual conference was spon- sored by the Detroit Area Com- mercial Board of Realtors and the Mortgage Bankers Association of Michigan. Terms Of Trade Are Improving Jerusalem — Israel's terms of trade improved in the first quar- ter after consistently dropping in the preceding four quarters, the Central Bureau of Statistics re- ported. The prices of imported goods rose 2.2 percent, compared with a sharper 4.2 percent increase in export prices. As a result, the terms of trade index climbed 1.8 percent, fol- lowing a 1.9 percent drop in the fourth quarter. Prices of agricultural export goods shot up 19 percent, con- tributing approximately one-third to the increase in export prices. Industrial export prices, ex- cluding diamonds, grew 1.9 per- cent in the first quarter after rising a more moderate 0.6 per- cent in the previous quarter. Raw material imports, exclud- ing diamonds and fuel, rose 5 per- cent following a 4 percent increase in the previous quarter, reflecting higher world commod- ity prices. Diamond export prices jumped 6.6 percent after dropping 3.7 per- cent in the fourth quarter.
