Creamery, is the first recipient
of Michigan Cancer Founda-
tion's Leonard N. Simons Vol-
unteer Award, presented at the
Foundation's 13th annual din-
ner in May.
The award was named in
honor of the Foundation's first
chairman of the board,
Leonard N. Simons. The pur-
pose is to recognize volunteers
who have provided exceptional
leadership, service and person-
al commitment to the Founda-
tion's mission of controlling
cancer. It is the highest award
available to MCF volunteers.
"Tom Angott best exemplifies
the criteria of this award," said
Foundation President Dr.
Vainutis Vaitkevicius. He
and Mary Lou Zieve of Bloom-
field Hills, Mr. Simon's daugh-
ter, made the presentation. "He
has certainly given a great deal
of himself. His enthusiasm is

graduated from the University
of Michigan Medical School this
month. She completed her un-
dergraduate degree in education
at the University of Michigan
and will be pursuing residency
training in pathology at Har-
vard Medical School's Brigham
and Women's Hospital in
Boston. She is the daughter of
Dr. and Mrs. Joseph Mantel of
West Bloomfield.
