DON ROSS, 48, former Detroi- ter of California, died June 2. Mr. Ross, a respected authority on nutrition, fitness and exercise physiology, held several body- building titles including Mr. North America, Mr. Universe, twice winner of America's Most Muscular Man, Pro Mr. Ameri- ca. He was the former host of the ESPN "American Muscle" show, appeared in televison commercials and TV shows. He wrestled professionally under the name "Ripper Savage, the Bronx Barbarian." He had his own cable TV show called "Rip- per's Corner." Mr. Ross au- thored several books and many articles. At the Bodybuilding Academy Awards, he was twice winner of the title "Best Writer in Bodybuilding."
