discussion groups in June. One
group focuses on Jewish authors
and topics, one on general litera-
ture, and one on gay/lesbian is-
sues and authors. They meet once
per month in the Cafe Espresso.

will meet Monday, June 19, at
7:30 p.m. to discuss Ritual Bath
by Rita Mae Brown.
The gay and lesbian book
group will meet Monday, June
26, at 7:30 p.m. to discuss Bingo

The general literature group
will meet Wednesday, June 28,
at 7:30 p.m. to discuss Brighten
the Corner Where You Are by

Jazzfest '95
In Birmingham
For the third year, the Commu-
nity House in Birmingham will
present Jazzfest, a four-day jazz
festival which takes place
throughout downtown Birming-
ham. Jazzfest '95 will open
Thursday evening, July 27, with
a free concert in ShaM Park and
continue through Sunday, July
30. There will be ticketed concerts
Friday and Saturday nights at
the Community House and free
concerts in Shain Park on Sat-
urday and Sunday. Birmingham
restaurants will present live jazz
