of thy house and upon thy gates."

The Mezuzah functions to serve as a re-
minder of G-d's presence and is also a sym-
bol of identification with the Jewish people.

Since the late 1890s, The Auxiliary/Jewish
Home for Aged has provided service to the
aging population in our community The
Mezuzah Project is a continuation of this im-
portant work and a reaffirmation of our
commitment to our elderly!

second in the school
year for the 4-year-
old class. Another
play kicked off the
school year in Sep-
tember.
In February, the
children began learn-
ing the songs they
were to perform. Af-
terward, they audi-
tioned for parts,
learned the storyline and made the
costumes, T-shirts painted to look
like different animals.
"The children were so excited
to perform," said Rena Wein-
traub, associate director of the
nursery school. "This was their
moment. The excitement in their
faces and seeing their families en-

sang, "I like fish. It's my favorite
kind of dish."
The children were aided by the
direction of music specialist Loie
Meeron, who also wrote the
songs. Staff members Rhonda
Mostyn and Gina Galin helped
with the costumes and set design.
"It is nice to see the kids put it
all together," Ms. Mogtyn said.
"They were so happy with the
way it turned out."
But it was sad as well. The 4-
year-old class will leave the nurs-
ery school in June and start
kindergarten in the fall.
"It really was bittersweet," Ms.
Weintraub said. "You know these
kids for so long and you watch
them grow and then they move
on." ❑
