o help celebrate summer we
present our annual "Summer Plea-
sures" issue filled with activities, trav-
el ideas and informative articles.
Whether your passion is golf, read-
ing, dining or baseball, we promise
to keep your summer exciting with
our guide. We've included a daily
summer calendar filled with enter-
tainment ideas, awesome activities
and fabulous festivals.

Spending time with your family
is always a priority in the summer.
Staff writer Jennifer Finer compiled
a superb list of day trips ranging from
museums in Ann Arbor and Lansing
to plane rides to a trek to the Ba-
hamas. After doing the research,
Jennifer is ready for a day adventure
herself.

Writer Ellyce Field will help you
get the children ready for camp with
her informative article, and she'll
keep them healthy with her sugges-
tions for nutritious snacks.

To enjoy the outdoors, we've in-
cluded a list of many of the fine local
restaurants that provide outdoor din-
ing.

Writer Ruthan Brodsky, an avid
golfer, interviewed several local
golfers about their favorite hole on
Michigan courses. We hope this will
put your golf game in "full swing' this
season.

And if your pleasure is just swing-
ing in the hammock with a good
book, this issue suggests some of the
sure-to-be bestsellers this summer.
(If you need to escape to an air-con-
ditioned movie theater, check out our
preview of this summer's sure-to-be
blockbusters.)

So, whether your summer is jam-
packed with activities or relaxing and
restful in your back yard, we hope
our "Summer Pleasures" adds to the
sunshine.
Sincerely,

ranidin
