He has been active in many youth groups during his high school years. He has also acted as a volunteer for the Al- lied Jewish Campaign. Since 1991, he has been employed with Mitchell's Catering in Farming- ton Hills. He recently completed the Dale Carnegie Course in ef- fective speaking and human re- lations. Alterman is president of Michi- gan Region AZA, received a Na- tional Merit Scholarship, won the League of Jewish Women's Or- ganizations Youth Award, com- peted in the cross country state finals, earned varsity track and cross country letters, and fin- ished seven times in the top five at forensics tournaments. He earned the National Council of Teachers of English, Free Press, and other writing awards. He will attend Princeton Universi- ty. Aronson is a valedictorian. She is former student council presi- dent and class representative, yearbook production editor, a participant in varsity volleyball, martial arts, basketball, Phi Beta Kappa, National Honor Society, Bnei Akiva counselor for chil- dren, winner of the National Mathematics award two years in a row, recipient of the U-M Re- gents-Alumni Scholarship and the Wayne Presidential Schol- arship. Her college plans are un- decided. Berris was a member of B'nai B'rith Youth Organization and held a regional executive posi- tion. She was Phi Beta Kappa and a participant in Project Dis- covery. She plans to attend the University of Michigan. Following Israel, she will attend Wayne State University. Buxton is vice president of her school's National Honor Society, and first vice president of Shoshanna BBG. She has played the violin since the fourth grade and has been a figure skater for 12 years. She has been a mem- ber of the Metropolitan Youth Symphony for two years.
