ADAM MICHAEL AVRU-
SHIN, as a winner of the De-
lancy Award for leadership, was
one of two student speakers at
commencement exercise at
Wayne State University. Adam
was awarded the degree of bach-
elor of arts with majors in peace
and conflict studies and political
science from the College of Lib-
eral Arts. He was a founding
member of the Wayne State Uni-
versity Phi Alpha Delta prelaw
fraternity and served as its sec-
retary for the 1993-94 academic
year. He has served as vice pres-
ident and president of the Wayne
State Chapter of Amnesty In-
ternational.

The Metro Council of Hillel of
Metro Detroit is a group of stu-
dents and young adults in the
metro Detroit area who plan and
implement community-wide pro-
grams. All Jewish young adults
and college students, 18-30 years
old, who are interested in serv-
ing on the Metro Council should
submit a letter of intent, which
includes name, address, and
phone number, why each feels
he/she should be on the Metro
Council, what he/she can bring
to the Metro Council, past Hillel
experience and any other rele-
vant information.
All letters should be sent by
July 10 to: H.M.D. Metro Coun-
cil, 667 Student Center Building,
Wayne State University, Detroit,
MI 48202; or fax them to (313)
