NIKI BERLIN is driving oppo-
nents crazy at the plate and on
the base paths for the Berkley
High School softball team.
In Berkley's 9-5, 15-3 double-
header sweep of Ferndale on May
4, Berlin had four hits and three
stolen bases in the opener and
three hits and three steals in the
nig htcap.
B erlin had four hits, three RBI
and two runs in Berkley's 15-3
win over Pontiac Central on May
1 and she had four hits, including
two doubles, in a 15-9 victory over
Bloomfield Hills Lahser on May
3.

ROBERT ROTH was on base
three times during the game for
the winners.
SIMON GALED improved his
record to 3-0 in three appear-
ances when he pitched the
Berkley baseball team to a 1-0
win over Waterford Kettering on
May 5.
The game was shortened to
five innings because of rain, but
Galed still earned his second
shutout.
Galed also was the winning
pitcher in Berkley's 4-3 triumph
over Ortonville-Brandon on May
1 (allowing only one earned run)
and he had an RBI double in a 6-
2 loss to Waterford Mott on May
3.

for the Birmingham Seaholm
High School baseball team in its
7-6 victory over Southfield on May
1.
SANDY LEVINE pitched a
three-hitter, earning the victory
for the Birmingham Groves High
School baseball team in a 14-4
win over Saline on May 6 in a
tournament in Ann Arbor.
Levine helped his cause at the
plate with two hits and two runs
and STORM KIRSCHEN-
BAUM contributed three hits
and four RBI.
On May 3, Levine hurled the
last two innings in Groves' 7-5
win over Hazel Park.
JUSTIN SCHULTZ shut down
the Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook
Kingswood attack as he pitched
the West Bloomfield baseball
team to a 3-1 win on May 1.
Schultz allowed just two hits,
struck out seven and walked one.
The only run he gave up was un-
earned. At the plate, Schultz
drove in two of West Bloomfield's
three runs.
DARIN GLASSER was the win-
ning pitcher in the North Farm-
ington High School baseball
team's 7-1 victory over Farming-
ton on May 1.
Glasser scattered eight hits,
fanned seven and walked one as
he improved his record to 3-0. He
also had a two-run single in North
Farmington's seven-run surge in
the bottom of the sixth inning.

1 singles title, leading the Groves
boys tennis team to the champi-
onship of the Woodhaven Invita-
tional on May 6.
Three invitational victories —
including a hard-fought 6-4, 2-6,
6-4 triumph over Plymouth
Salem's Xining Li in the semifi-
nals — gave Cohen a 12-1 record
for the season.
ADAM COHEN, Nathan's
brother, placed third at No. 4 sin-
gles at Woodhaven and MARC
FIELDS and Marc Goike were
the winners at No. 3 doubles.
ADAM WERDER scored two
goals for the Birmingham lacrosse
team in a 12-3 victory over Ann
Arbor Pioneer on May 3. Werder
is a sophomore at Groves. The
team is made up of players from
both Groves and Seaholm.
