RUDNER, 48 formerly of Michigan of Raleigh, N.C., died May 5. Professor Rudner earned a bachelor's degree, two master's degrees and a doctor- ate from Michigan State Uni- versity. He studied, taught and wrote about the Holocaust dur- ing his career at North Caroli- na State University. His novel, The Magic We Do Here, pub- lished in 1988, was an attempt to fight what he felt was the passing memory about the Holocaust. The book won the Sir Walter Raleigh Award for Fiction that year.
