The West Bloomfield High
School drama department will
present the musical Into the
Woods by Stephen Sondheim
on May 4-6 at the high school.
Robert Leider, director and
West Bloomfield drama teacher,
worked with Mr. Sondheim in
a musical theater writers work-
shop. "This is the most difficult
material our collaborative team
has encountered," said Mr.
Leider.

Congregation Beth Abraham
Hillel Moses recently presented
its first Humanitarian Award to
Drs. Phoebe and Harris
Mainster. The gala event,
chaired by Marilyn Rice, raised
$27,175 to be donated to Chil-
dren's Hospital of Michigan in
memory of the Mainsters' grand-
son, Sebastian.
Tables were decorated with
red roses and guests included
Dr. Sanford Cohen and his
wife, Sandy, Lewis and
Cheryl Silver, Irving and
Barbara Nusbaum, Jack and
Esther Liwazer and Dr. Kan-
ta Bhambhani, who treated Se-
bastian at Children's Hospital.
BAHM Rabbi A. Irving
Schnipper led the blessing over
the bread, while congregation
president Franklin Levy gave
welcoming remarks.
Sebastian Mainster Ditt-
man, 6, died last year of a brain
