This com- memorates the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the concen- tration camps. The presiding officer of the event is Phyllis Lewkowicz. The Yizkor service will be led by Cantor David Gut- man. Martin Lowenberg, a survivor of the Holocaust will speak, fol- lowed by a cancllelighting cere- mony with other survivors participating. Refreshments will be served. Adat Shalom Plans Observance Adat Shalom Synagogue mem- bers will mark Israel Indepen- dence Day at a congressional service and dinner on Friday, May 5. Following a 6 p.m. Kab- balat Shabbat service, families will enjoy a traditional Shabbat dinner. Synagogue clergy will lead birkat hamazon, songs and spe- cial prayers for the occasion.
