Mr. Brownfain was a graduate of Southfield High School and earned both undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Michi- gan. In Portland he was for sev- eral years an associate in the law firm of Perkins Coie, and in recent years was a law clerk in the 9th Federal District Court. He was active in the Jewish Community and this year chaired a highly successful Su- per Sunday on behalf of the Portland Jewish Federation.
