Music Camp
Scholarships
The Third Seder, sponsored by
the Charles and Frances Driker
Fund for Yiddish Culture, will
take place on Tuesday, April 18,
at noon at Jimmy Prentis Mor-
ris Jewish Community Center.
Cantor Sidney Resnick will lead
this Passover celebration ac-
companied by pianist, Lillian
Zellman. A kosher meal will be
served. Reservations are re-
quired; no one will be admitted
without a ticket. There is a
charge.
The Wednesday Afternoon So-
cial meets at 1 p.m. Broadway
show tunes and Yiddish melodies
are presented by a troupe of lo-
cal entertainers. Refreshments
are served. There is a charge for
this event. Additional volunteer
entertainers are being sought.

seniors, call the JCC, 967-4030.
The Center Mens' Forum is
held each Thursday from 10:30
a.m. to noon. David Weiner fa-
cilitates this event, a current
events group for men dealing
with topics on local, national and
international events. There is no
charge.
The Lyric Chamber Ensemble,
celebrating its 15th year of pre-
senting concerts in the metro De-
troit area, is now taking
applications for auditions for
"Summer Music Experience '95"
— a two-week day camp to take
place at Oakland Community
College Auburn Hills Campus
from July 7-21.
Talented students from the
former Soviet Union who pass
an audition during April will be
sponsored by The Jewish News.
This is the second year that the
newspaper has sponsored Russ-
ian students by underwriting the
full cost of their tuition for the
camp.
Students, ages 12-17, will re-
ceive 10 full days of classes in
music theory, jazz, concert band,
orchestra, master classes, and
chamber music coachings. The
camp will conclude with two stu-
dent performances — one fea-
turing chamber ensembles and
the other a program of orches-
tral, band, and jazz music.
Faculty members include
members of the Detroit Sym-
phony Orchestra and other local
professional ensembles, as well
as some of the area's most promi-
nent music educators. For a

members for Election Training
Conclave to be held the weekend

day, April 23, Detroit Teen Con-
nection will have a program of 5
Pin Bowling in Windsor. The
Teen Connection outing will leave
the West Bloomfield JCC at 2
p.m. and return at 6 p.m. The fee
for the event will include trans-
portation, two bowling games,
show rental and ice cream re-
freshments. The Teen Connection
program is open to all seventh
