An information meeting will be
held at 7 p.m., April 12, in the
Max M. Fisher Building for sin-

July 2-13 United Jewish Appeal
Summer Singles mission to Is-
rael.
The mission for singles 25-40
will feature water sports, night
life, mountain climbing, archae-
ological digs and visits to histor-
ical sites. Stops will include
adventures in Eilat, Jerusalem,
Lake Kinneret, Tel Aviv, Masa-
da, the dead Sea and the Part-
nership 2000 Central Galilee
region.

The Youth Department of Con-
gregation Beth Achim has sev-
eral events planned for the
month of April for children of all
ages.
On Saturday, April 8, the
Youth Department will conduct
Shabbat services beginning at
8:45 a.m. as part of the annual
Shabbat Hanoar. Following ser-
vices there will be a luncheon for
the participants and their fam-
ilies.
B'nai Mazal (2nd - 5th
graders) will go to Phazerland in
Farmington Hillsfrom 1- 4 p.m.
The Beth Achim Kadima (5th
- 8th grade) group will join forces
with Kadima members from
Beth Shalom and hold a Phaz-
erland Sleepover on Saturday,
April 22. The evening will begin
at 9 p.m. at Phazerland and then
participants will return to Con-
gregation Beth Shalom in Oak
Park for the sleepover which will
continue until 8:30 a.m. on Sun-
day, April 23.
Nitzanim (ages up to 2nd
grade) will visit Marvin's Me-
chanical Museum from 1- 3:30
p.m. on Sunday, April 23, and

Lahav USY also will go to Mar-
vin's and Phazerland on Satur-
day, April 29, from 9 p.m. -
midnight.
On Sunday, April 30, from 1 -
4 p.m., Kadima will hold elec-
tions and enjoy an afternoon of
sports.

BBYO Events
Set For Teens

Michigan Region BBYO will hold
its next Jewish Heritage event
on Sunday, April 9, starting at
1:30 p.m. at the Orchard Lake
Middle School, Orchard Lake be-
tween Maple and Walnut Lake
roads. The guest speaker will be
the Reverend James Lyons; the
theme of the event is "Holocaust
Revisionism." Following the pre-
sentation, at approximately 3
p.m., the participants will join in
a Memorial Walk.
Shira BBG will hold its
Matzah Ball Dance Saturday,
April 8, from 9 p.m. to midnight
at Congregation B'nai Moshe.
There is a charge. In addition,
the AZAA Sectional Tournament
will also be held April 7 - 9 in Mil-
waukee. The team that won our
local championship tournament
will represent Michigan Region
at the Sectionals. BBYO 1995
council installation chairmen
have been selected. They are Ben
Ellis of Chalutzim AZA and Al-
lison Sweet of Ahavah BBG. The
council installations will be held
on Monday, June 12. Details of
the event will be announced in
May.
All BBYO members, friends
and guests are invited to attend
all BBYO programs. The Michi-
gan Region Board of Directors
meeting will be held on Tuesday,
April 11, 7:30 p.m. in the board
room of the Maple-Drake JCC.

items is noon Thursday, eight
days prior to issue date. The
deadline for birth announce-
ments is 10 a.m. Monday,
four days prior to issue date;
out-of-town obituaries, 10
a.m. Tuesday, three days pri-
or to issue date.

All material must be type-
written, double-spaced, on
8'/2 x 11 paper and include
the name and daytime tele-
phone number of sender.
