Learning Minyan

On Tuesday, April 4, from 7-9
p.m., the Agency for Jewish Ed-
ucation will present a Jewish Ed-
ucators learning minyan titled
"Birchat Hashahar" at Congre-
gation B'nai Moshe.
Presented by Rabbi Elliot
Pachter of Congregation B'nai
Moshe, facilitated by Elissa Berg,
with musical accompaniment by
Raquel R. Gershon and Shawn
Locke, the learning minyan pro-
vides educators with the oppor-
tunity to experience and learn
about tefillahiprayer in a sup-
portive environment. Partici-
pants will discuss the
choreography of the service, ex-
plore similarities and differences
between Reform and Conserva-
tive siddurim and customs, par-
ticipate in a Ma'ariv service and
learn about Birchat Hashahar,
the morning prayers.

The Labor Zionist Alliance Coun-
cil of Metropolitan Detroit will
host a Come and Meet Assembly
on Sunday, April 9, at 1:30 p.m.
at 25900 Greenfield.
The guest will be the newly
elected national president of La-
bor Zionist Alliance, Daniel
Mann. There is no charge. Re-
freshments will be served.

On Monday, April 3, the
Midrasha Center for Adult Jew-
ish Learning will present an
evening study session led by Rab-
bi Herbert I. Yoskowitz, explor-
ing the Book of Psalms as a
source of comfort and spiritual
healing for those who dealing
with issues of grief and loss.
The study session will be held
at the Midrasha, 21550 West 12
Mile Road in Southfield, from
7:30 to 9 p.m., and there is a
charge. This is the final session
in a series of four.
In connection with this series,
Midrasha is offering for purchase
copies of a recently-published
book titled Healing of Soul, Heal-
ing of Body: Spiritual Leaders
Unfold the Strength and Solace
in Psalms. The book is a project
of the Jewish Healing Center and
features essays by Orthodox,
Conservative, Reform, and Re-
constructionist clergy. Advance
