Parenting Center
April Classes

Bereavement Group is for young
widows and widowers with teen-
aged children or younger. The
group will meet with Irma Starr
beginning Thursday, April 6, 7:30-
9:30 p.m. at the Applebaum Par-
enting Center. Baby-sitting is
available by reservation.
Challah Days will be on Friday,
April 7, 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. Ruth Beresh
will teach how to make challah.
Kitchen Table II is a morning
class for moms and their babies,
birth through crawling. The series
will include developmental stages,
infant CPR, dealing with health is-
sues. Ruth Beresh will lead the dass
Wednesday, April 5, at 9:30 a.m.
Healthy Moms, Happy Babies
II is an exercise class for moms and
babies up to one year of age on
Tuesdays, starting April 4, 10-11
a.m. with Facilitator Laurie Gold-
stein. Babysitting available by
reservation.
"Why We Stand, When We Sit:"
teaches about the Shabbat morn-
ing service. Meet with Saul Rube,
April 5, 7:30-9 p.m.
"Jewish Children's Books —
How to Choose Them, How to Use
Them:" teaches how to make the
different genres of Jewish children's
book-storybook, biography, activi-
ty book, toddler book — a part of
the family's Jewish education.
Judye Groner, author, will lead the
program Sunday, April 9, 10:45-
11:45 a.m.
Whether a child is beginning
public or private school, this is an
opportunity to learn about a major
rite of passage. Elissa Rosenfeld
and Didi Wainess will lead a dis-
cussion Wednesday, April 26, at
7:30 p.m.
Certified Babysitting is a class
for 11 year olds and up. This Red
Cross certified class teaches basic
first aid, general child care, how to
handle emergency situation. In-
structor Michelle Pryslac will be-
gin this class Wednesday, April 26,
4-5:30 p.m.
"Challenges of Parenting Your
Teen-ager" is for parents of children
in middle school through college.
Dr. Mark Soverinsky will lead the
program Thursday, April 6 7:30-9
p.m.

BBYO Alums
Plan Reunion

Michigan Region BBYO will hold
a reunion for BBYO alums who
graduated in the 1980s. The
event is scheduled for September
9. A committee is now going
formed to plan this event.
