Maple-Drake
Events Slated

The Lunch and Learn series will
continue for spring at Maple-
Drake with "Judaism, Christian-
ity and Islam: the Relationships
from a Historical Perspective." On
April 12: "Christianity: Same
Roots, Divergent Branches" with
the Rev. Oscar Ice; May 24: "Sur-
vival of an Ancient Religion: Ju-
daism" with Rabbi Lane Steinger;
June 14: "Islam: Its Relationship
to Judaism and Christianity" with
Imam Muneer Fareed. All pro-
grams will meet on Wednesdays
with lunch at noon and lecture at
12:30 p.m. Brown bag a kosher
lunch or purchase one in the cafe-
teria. Coffee and tea will be pro-
vided. There is a charge.
Mordecai Kaplan, the founder
of the Jewish Reconstructionist
Movement in America, will be the
topic of discussion by Rabbi Con-
rad of Temple Kol Ami on Tues-
day, April 10, at 12:30 p.m. at the
Maple-Drake; there is a charge.
A book review with Ethel Sar-
wer-Foner will take place on
Tuesday, April 11, at 1 p.m. at
Maple-Drake. Call Lorraine Mor-
ris, 661-7649, for title of book.
The World Adventure Series
with Ken Lawrence will contin-
ue with the film Life in Austria,
exploring the lands of Burgen-
land, Vienna and Salzburg on
Monday, April 17, at 1 p.m. at

Bereavement
Support Group

Temple Israel will begin another
nine-week Bereavement Support
group on Tuesdays starting May
2, from 7:30-9:30 p.m. The group,
which meets at the temple, will
be led by trained facilitators.
The Bereavement Support
Group is offered free of charge to
any member of the Jewish com-
munity who has suffered the loss
of a loved one. To register, or for

JPI Hosts
Model Seder

The Jewish Parents Institute will
present a Passover seder on Sun-
day, April 9, at noon at the
Maple-Drake Jewish Communi-
ty Center. A special Haggadah
has been written, and the seder
will be conducted by JPI parents
and students. Lunch will be
catered. The public is invited.
There is a charge for this event
and advance reservations are re-
quired by Tuesday, April 4. For
