School of Business Administra-
tion Professional Development
Division (PDD) has opened a
Business Technical Assistance
Center in the West Bank in co-
operation with Hebron Universi-
ty.
The center, which is part of the
PDD's international operations,
will provide one-on-one business
counseling and business planning
and it will conduct "how-to" busi-
ness workshops for businesses
and entrepreneurs in the West
Bank and Gaza.
"We hope that the center
serves as a catalyst for econom-
ic development in the area, and
contributes to a better quality of
life for the citizens of the region,"
said Raymond Genick, assistant
dean for professional develop-
ment at the Wayne State School
of Business Administration.

MARX LAYNE & Company, a

Farmington Hills marketing and
public relations firm, has opened
a Detroit office at 743 Beaubien
in the Boydell Building near
Greektown.
A growth in clients and staff
and a desire to be closer to its De-
troit and Windsor clients con-
vinced Marx Layne to open the
new office in a 2,500-square-foot
commercial loft.
"We also are very encouraged
by the developments occurring in
downtown Detroit under the
Archer administration, and we
wanted to be in on the ground
floor," said Marx Layne partner

HOSPICE of Southeastern

Michigan has been given the go-
ahead by the Farmington Hills
City Council to build a cluster of
four 20-bed hospice homes on the
southwest corner of 11 Mile and
Middlebelt.
Neumann-Smith and Associ-
ates is the designer of the homes,
which will be built in two pairs.
Each pair will share a kitchen
and a chapel.
The site also will house the ad-
ministrative offices of the Hospice
