Society," said Mr. Brenner in his
New York speech. "The English
translation was 'seize the day.'
From the time Dani came to
New York, seizing the day —
making the most of every op-
portunity this city and this
school had to offer — became
her passion. Dani will never go
on to Harvard or Juilliard or
any of the other goals she as-
pired to. She lives in our minds
and hearts and will forever, and
she lives within Jason."
Dani's relatives are not the
only Jewish Detroit family that
has been affected by organ do-
nation.

On Jan. 1, 31-year-old Amy
Margolis Silberman of Boston,
a niece of Cantor Norman Rose
of Temple Emanu-El and his
wife Euni, became an organ and
tissue donor after being struck
by a stray bullet while on vaca-
tion in New Orleans.
On Jan. 27, Erik Morganroth,
25, of Troy, became a heart re-
cipient after a virus attacked
and weakened his heart. He is
recovering out of the hospital.
"Some good was able to come
out of Dani's death," Ms. Bren-
ner said. "From what we un-
derstand, a father received her
liver and someone else's father
received her kidney. That's
three families whose lives are
now whole again because of
Dani.
"If one more family decides
to donate organs because of
Dani, more good can come out
of it."
