Rabbi Bob Alper will appear at
Congregation Beth Achim's Club
Night, Sunday, June 11, at 7:30
p.m. at the synagogue. The tick-
et price includes hors d'ouevres,
wine and a dessert bar.
Rabbi Bob Alper is a practic-
ing clergyman who does stand-
up comedy. A native of
Providence Rhode Island, he is a
graduate of Lehigh University,
was ordained at Hebrew Union
College in Cincinnati and is the
first Jewish person to earn a doc
torate from Princeton Theologi-
cal Seminary.

Health-club members were
concerned that major Center ren-
ovations would force an increase
in dues. Mr. Bloom said dues
would not be affected.
"We will take the money gen-
erated by the health club and put
at least half back to keep up the
facilities and continue to provide
Jewish services," he said.
"I think tonight's brainstorm-
ing session was a good start," said
longtime Center member
Howard Feit, whose main con-
cern was additional equipment
for the health club.
"I hate to see so many of my
friends leave the Center," added
Rosann Barak, a Center member
for 25 years. "Until now, it
seemed like no one was listening.
I appreciate that. Now they have
to act." ❑
