MARK SCHLUSSEL has
joined the law firm of Pepper,
Hamilton & Scheetz as counsel
in the Detroit office.
A general commercial and
transactional lawyer who often
speaks to groups on health-care
topics, Mr. Schlussel founded his
own law firm in 1968 which he
merged into Miller, Canfield,
Paddock and Stone in 1990.
Mr. Schlussel is a graduate of
Wayne State University and the
University of Michigan Law
School, where he earned a juris
doctor in 1965.
Pepper, Hamilton & Scheetz
was founded in Philadelphia in
1890 and it has grown to 275
lawyers practicing in eight cities
in the United States and abroad
in London and Moscow. Its clien-
tele is comprised mainly of busi-
nesses.
Mr. Schlussel was president
of the Jewish Federation of Met-
ropolitan Detroit from 1989-93
and he has been chairman of the
Federation's executive commit-
tee since 1993.

ty. He is a licensed builder with

struction.
His primary responsibilities
at Lutz are the research and un-
derwriting of commercial real es-
tate investments for commercial
lending.

ARIEL SCHOCHET of South-

field, a senior at Brandeis Uni-
versity in Waltham, Mass., has
joined Omicron Delta Epsilon
(ODE), the international eco-
nomics honor society.
ODE, one of the oldest and
largest honor societies in the
country, has more than 500
branches at colleges and uni-
versities in the United States
and abroad.
Mr. Schochet and 40 other
new members were welcomed
into the society during an in-
duction dinner at Brandeis.
