Tefillah
Study Project
On Sunday, March 19, the
Agency for Jewish Education will
sponsor Ma'ayan Tefillah: A Jour-
ney In Sacred Space, the second
session of a three-part pilot pro-
gram for Jewish educators, sched-
uled from 3 to 9 p.m. at Temple
Israel.
The program will be present-
ed by singer, songwriter and ed-
ucator Debbie Friedman as well
as Rabbi Amy Wallk Katz and
Dr. Sharon Feiman Nemser from
Congregation Kehillat Israel in
East Lansing and Shawn Locke,
director of school services at the
Agency for Jewish Education.
Each of the six-hour workshops
will introduce Jewish educators
to opportuniteis to explore
tefillah/prayer. During this ses-
sion, teachers will explore the Ma
Tovu prayer and create new Jew-
ish rituals to implement in their
classrooms.
The last session is scheduled
for Sunday, June 11, at Congre-
gation Shaarey Zedek B'nai
Israel. Participants will receive
10 NIRIM units upon completion
of the program.

Short Stories
The Agency For Jewish Educa-
tion Community Library will pre-
sent Literary Journeys every
other Thursday from 7:30 p.m.-9
p.m. at the Agency For Jewish
Education. This program is a free
bi-weekly discussion group for
those who appreciate sharing the
ideas and themes of short story
literature.
The groups will begin on
March 23 with a discussion on
`The Eighth Day" by Max Apple.
The following program will be
April 6, and will focus on "Some-
thing to Remember Me By"
by Saul Tolotaroff and Nessa
Rapoport.
