On Calendar

Congregation Beth Shalom Re-
ligious School will hold a school-
wide Purim Fair on Sunday,
March 12, at Avery School. There
will be six Purim stations open
from 9 a.m.- noon.
The class schedule is as fol-
lows: 9:30-10:15 a.m., grades K-
2; 10:15-11 a.m., grades 3-5;
11-11:45 a.m., grades 6-7.

Michigan Region BBYO will hold
annual Membership Open
House for all eighth and ninth
grade prospective members and
parents of Sunday, March 5, 2-4
p.m. at the Maple/Drake JCC.
Ahavah BBG will sponsor a Mr.
AZA and ice cream social night
on Saturday, March 4, 8-10:30
p.m. at Maple/Drake. All BBYO
members and guests are wel-
come. There is a charge. The
BBYO Adviser Group will meet
on Sunday, March 5, at 10 a.m.
in the BBYO Chapter Service
Center.
AZA and BBG councils will
hold monthly meeting on Tues-
day, March 7, 7 p.m. AZA will
meet Maple/Drake. Leslie Salba
of Disraeli BBG will be the BBG
Coordinator for Election Train-
ing Conclave which will be held
May12-14 at Camp Maas.

Fables Set
For Children

The second of Temple Beth El's
three-part Loren B. Foscher Cul-
tural Arts Program for Children
and Their Families, Aesop's Fa-
bles, cancelled due to inclement
weather, has been rescheduled.
On March 19, at 1 p.m., three
performers and their director/ac-
companist will take to the stage
in a Michigan Opera Theatre
musical adaptation of four old fa-
vorites, "The Tortoise and the
Hare," "The Fox and the Crow,"
"The Grasshopper and the Ant"
and "The Lion and the Mouse,"
designed to delight the younger
set.The performance is open to
the community without a charge.
No reservations are necessary.

Sleepover
For Students

Congregation B'nai Moshe will
have a sleepover for students in
grades two through six. The
event will take place at Kids
Sports on Franklin Road on Sat-
urday, March 11, beginning at 7
p.m. Pick up time is 9 a.m. Sun-
day, March 12.
The festivities will include a
Havdallah service,pizza dinner,
activities and breakfast in the
morning. All children who attend
the sleepover will receive a car-
nival admission ticket that in-
cludes 10 game tickets.

USY Plans
Purim Carnival

The USY chapter of Congrega-
tion B'nai Moshe will have a
Purim Carnival at the synagogue
on Sunday, March 12, from 11
a.m. until 1 p.m. The congrega-
tion is invited to partake in the
games and refreshments.
There is a charge for an ad-
mission ticket which entitles the
bearer to 10 free game tickets.
There will be prizes.

Machon Plans
Two Programs

Machon L'Torah will hold the
last JudaiCollege educational
program on Monday, March 6,
at 7 p.m. Rabbi Avraham Ja-
cobovitz will lead the lecture on
"Happiness, Godliness and Self
Esteem - The Powerful Trio of
Meaningful Living." Refresh-
ments will be served. The pro-
gram will be held at the Machon
Learning Center, 15221 W. 10

Machon L'Torah also will hold
an educational lunch time con-
ference at The Jewish News on
Monday, March 6, at 12:30 p.m.
Rabbi Jacobovitz, will lead the
discussion. There will be a deli
lunch before the lecture. There

Series Offered
On Aliyah

Individuals curious about mak-
ing aliyah are invited to a three-
part series March 13, 21 and 27
at 7:30 p.m. in the Max M. Fish-
er Building.
Sponsored by the Jewish Fed-
eration's Michigan/Israel Con-
nection, the Aliyah Expo will
discuss the meaning, the process,
and the personal, as well as the
professional, possibilities avail-
able to those who choose to move
and live in Israel.
There is a fee for each pro-
gram or a charge for the series.
