Gives Lecture
Machon L'Torah, will host Rab-
bi Mordechai Becher of Toronto,
Canada. Rabbi Becher will pre-
sent a lecture titled "Newt and
Bill vs. Abraham and Moses -
Judaism's view on the politicized
moral issues of our time - Abor-
tion, School Prayer, "Medicine,"
and Gun Control" 7:30 Tuesday,
March 21, at Machon.
Rabbi Becher, a scholar and
senior lecturer at the Tannen-
baum College/Ohr SoMayach of
Jerusalem, is a native of Aus-
tralia. He received his rabbini-
cal degrees from the Chief
Rabbinate of Israel, Chief Rab-
bi of Jerusalem, and the Rab-
binical College of Mishkan
HaTorah. The rabbi served as a
chaplain in the Israel Defense
Force. He has authored and de-
veloped various works in con-
temporary Jewish law and
Judaica software. He serves as
the senior lecturer of Ohr So-
mayach of Thornhill, Toronto
and Detroit.
