Purim Fun
At Dance Party

Fun lovers are invited to an
evening of spirited merrymaking
at the Jewish Community Cen-
ter of Washtenaw County's an-
nual Purim Party on Saturday,
Feb. 18, from 7:30 to 11 p.m. at
Washtenaw Community Col-
lege's Morris Lawrence Building.
Highlighting the event will be
the music of the Klezmer Fusion
Band playing Soulful Eastern
European melodies and Israeli
folk tunes combined with robust
jazz, Latin, and rock rhythms.
Tasty Jewish delicacies to satis-
fy every palate will be for sale by
Ann Arbor-area food establish-
ments.
Sets by Yribar Design, recre-
ating an ancient Persian court,
will provide the setting. Guests
may bring their own masks or
have the opportunity to make
their own at the event. Costumes
are certainly welcome!
Folk dances will be led by Ellen
Moss, a local UAW attorney and
skilled Israeli dancer; no expe-
rience or partner necessary.

Washtenaw County Jewish Com-

speak on When Memory Comes,
by Saul Friedlander, Sunday,
Feb. 26, 10 a.m., at the JCC.
When Memory Comes is a mem-
oir of the extraordinary childhood
and adolescence of a well-known
historian who teaches at UCLA
and Tel Aviv University.
