Last year, Kobernick was a winner in the final Southeastern Michigan Association meet. Kimball is 8-0 in Division I of the Oakland Activities Associa- tion and West Bloomfield is 7-1 with two division matches to go. Hertza wanted to break the 21- year-old West Bloomfield pool and team records for six-dive compe- titions in those meets. Well, he did it ... not once, but twice. Against Berkley on Feb. 7, Hertza scored 286.30 points, just bettering the old marks of 285.20 which were established in 1974. Two days later, against Ferndale, Hertza shattered his own records by scoring 298.85 points.
