The changeover from Jack Mc-
Carthy's old place in a 30-year-
old building that needed many
improvements, to the present
Sweetwaters Bistro, has its sen-
sations ... but the dining adven-
ture customers encounter brings
a warmer glow.
There's a fervent desire to
please ... and this Cheryl and
Joel do without overbearing nui-
sance ... They have given Sweet-
waters Bistro a charm of casual
dining delight that oozes onto a
customer's feeling of satisfaction
that cannot be bought.

we witnessed while recently in
Atlanta.
Rabbi Harvey Winokur and
his Temple Kehillah Chaim were
having a Junior Youth Group
Shabbat ... and Cantor Barbara
Margulis was at her best leading
the congregation in the folk song
made famous by Peter, Paul and
Mary, "Blowing in the Wind,"
plus "If I Had a Hammer."
Temple Kehillah Chaim was
formed by Rabbi Winokur and
Alan-Abrams, and after meeting
in churches and schools, has been
permanently at the former First
Christian Church of Roswell
since 1992 ... Membership
growth to about 175 families may
bring larger and more sophisti-
cated quarters.
Saturday evening in Atlanta
was another entertaining feeling
... being at one of Buckhead
County's better restaurants ...
Azalea, opened Aug. 7, 1990, and
taking many casual dollars from
trend-seeking patrons.
It's always nice to see very
busy waitpersons helping each
other ... There are few things bet-
ter than server teamwork ...
making for such excellent service
that certainly compliments the
graciousness of fine dining ... We
(Alan Brasher, Kandy Harden,
Tim Panetta, Bonnie and Scott
Raskin and Frieda) saw four dif-
ferent faces at our table ... The
take-away of used dishes was
fast, and our server couldn't have
been better in his delivery of the
fine food.
Presentations by Azalea's
kitchen have ingenious touches
... Like happy birthday being
written in chocolate around a
plate, with sprinkles of chocolate
in the center.
Thursday evening at the Tav-
ern at Phipps Plaza in Buckhead
had at least two unusual things
going for it ... Entering the
restaurant via revolving doors
that turned to the left rather than
the right ... like driving in Eng-
land or what we in America
would consider the other side of
the road ... And, besides its good
menu, not having to wait like at
so many restaurants in Atlanta.
