Schlag, a kumsitz-style evening
on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 8:30 p.m.

On Sunday, Feb. 26 at 3:30 p.m.,
the Lyric Chamber Ensemble will
present the Moscow String Quar-
tet in "Great Russian Romantics,"
hosted by Congregation Shaarey
Zedek.
Recently immigrated from the
former Soviet Union, the mem-
bers of this all-female quartet are
graduates of the Moscow Con-
servatory and have been concer-
tizing since 1975. They received
two grand prizes at the 1979 In-
ternational Quartet Competition
in Evian, France. The members
of the quartet are serving as
artists in residence at the Uni-
versity of Denver.
There will be an afterglow
with the artists with a Russian
theme immediately following the
concert at the Franklin home of
Marjorie and Saul Saulson, with
proceeds benefiting the Lyric
Chamber Ensemble. For ticket

Music Month
Program Set

In celebration of Jewish Music
Month, the Sholem Aleichem In-
stitute will present the mezzo
soprano Irena Lekhtman on Fri-
day, Feb. 10 at 8 p.m. Accompa-
nied by Zina Astrakhan, she will
perform a program of operatic,
Russian, and Yiddish songs.
The program will take place at
the Franklin Pointe Clubhouse,
23661 Franklin Pointe Drive.
