of the Michigan Civil Rights Com-
mission during the commission's
public meeting last month in De-
troit. Ms. Berlin is co-owner and
corporate secretary-treasurer of
Weight Watchers Group.

WE'RE FIGHTING FOR YOUR LIFE

In 1985, Ms. Berlin became the
first handicapped person to be ap-
pointed to the civil rights commis-
sion (she uses a wheelchair). She
was re-appointed to her third term
last year by Gov. John Engler.
Ms. Berlin is a board member
of the Anti-Defamation League,
Jewish Vocational Service and
the Jewish Association for Resi-
dential Care. In addition, she is
the newly elected chair of the
Kenny Rehab board.

DR. SID GROSSBERG of Coun-
seling Associates in Southfield has
been elected president of the Oak-
land Executives Association, an
organization of Oakland County
business decision makers which
meets weekly to develop new busi-
ness opportunities.
Dr. Grossberg is past president
of his national and state profes-
sional organizations. A professor
at Wayne State University for 13
years, Dr. Grossberg now teach-
es in the summer continuing ed-
ucation program and advanced
certificate program at Smith Col-
lege in Northampton, Mass.
He is on the mental health
provider advisory boards of Blue
Cross Blue Shield of Michigan,
Chrysler Managed Care, Value
Behavioral Health and Options
Medical Health.

JOANNA COHEN was named
1994 counselor of the year by the
Michigan Rehabilitation Coun-
seling Association. Ms. Cohen has
been with Michigan Rehabilita-
tion Services for 18 years and is
active in many community orga-
nizations.
