The Jewish Parenting Center is
offering a class called First Grade
Hebrew Coach, designed for par-
ents with children in first grade
at Shaarey Zedek Religious
School. The class, taught by
Michael Wolf, will begin on Sun-
day, Feb. 4, at 10:45 a.m. A be-
ginner Hebrew class will also be
offered starting at 10 am.
Making Family Memories will
be taught by Lynn Breuer 7-9 p.
on Mondays, beginning Feb. 20.
The class will present step-by-
step instructions to help maxi-
mize Jewish traditions, by
learning how to organize family
photos into keepsake family al-
bums. Participants should bring
up to 12 photos of the same sub-
ject and a sharp pair of scissors.
Additional materials may be pur-
chased at class.
Parenting—The First 100 Days
is designed for first-time parents.
The course teaches about baby
namings, selecting a pediatrician,
circumcision, health issues, nurs-
ing, bonding, becoming a family,
and bringing Judaism into the
home. Rabbi William Gershon, Dr.
George Blum, Elissa Rosenfeld, and
Sherri Glassman, will begin the se-
ries Tuesday, Feb. 21, 7:30-
9 p.m.
Creative kosher cooking will
be taught by Mimi Markofsky 7-
9 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 22. The
class will teach Kosher Gourmet
Cooking.
Bereavement Group is for
young windows and widowers
with teenaged children or younger.
The group will meet beginning
Thursday, March 2, 7:30-9:30 p.m.
Babysitting is available.

program for men and women

has scheduled a current events
night. Refreshments will be pro-

Drake Thursday Night Social
Group (a weekly social, cultural
and recreational program for men
and women with developmen-
tal disabilities) will have its
annual winter dance. Eric Harris

evening's D.J. and a dessert

Bais Chabad Torah Center will
have a public melava malka 9
p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the

Bloomfield. The Melava Malka
Series, dedicated to the memory
of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, fea-
tures entertainment, a Torah dis-
course, and a catered dinner. For

Larry Gormezano has been ap-
pointed chairman of the Bais
Chabad Purim Dinner, which
will take place Purim night,
March 16, at the West Bloomfield
Jewish Community Center. En-
tertainmetn will be provided by
the Lenny Zimberg Orchestra.
The dinner is open to the public.

will give a class on "Family
Purity" for men only 8 p.m.
