J
to what they have in their hearts
and then speak the language of
music together with them, I don't
think there's anything more won-
derful.
"What, in my opinion, will ac-
tually bring the real peace is the
one-on-one communication be-
tween people."
Noa easily recalls her perfor-
mance here last year at the JCC.
"There were lots and lots of
people, and the atmosphere in the
room was warm and really fan-
tastic," she said. "In the middle
of the show, we had an electrici-
ty failure so there was a total
blackout during one of the most
emotional ballads.
"We suddenly were in total si-
lence and in total blackness. I
started laughing, and the audi-
ence started laughing.
"I thought I'd continue and do
the songs a cappella, but just as
I was about to do that, boom, the
lights went back on. We all
laughed again.
"When those things happen,
even though it's frightening when
there's a technical failure, the fact
that you managed to overcome it,
and especially if you do it in a
charming way, brings you so
much closer to the audience. It
breaks the ice, and from there on,
the concert just glows."
When Noa is in Michigan, she
will be joined by her husband,
who plans to spend a couple of
weeks on the tour. During the
couple's time away from work,
they enjoy scuba diving, espe-
cially in the Red Sea.
Dancing is the entertainer's
preferred exercise.
Noa, who does a lot of volun-
teer work to benefit women's
rights groups and autistic chil-
dren, expresses the source of her
energy by singing a refrain from
a Beatles song: "Love, love, love!"
"I'm very generous with it my-
self, and when you give it out, you
get it back," she said. ❑
