Dr. Claude Oster

Claude Oster has been named
chairman of the Detroit Region
of the American Committee for
the Weizmann Institute of
Science.
Dr. Oster has a long record of
involvement with the organiza-
tion, having served on the Detroit
and national boards.
Dr. Oster is also a member of
the Board of Trustees of the Col-
lege of Osteopathic Medicine and
Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa.

Esther Series
Continues

"Behind the Veil: A Closer Look
at the Book of Esther," a monthly
study series led by Ruth Berg-
man, will continue on Monday
night, Feb. 6, at7:30 p.m. with a
session entitled, "Searching for
G-d in the Book of Esther."
The Midrasha course is host-
ed by the Applebaum Parenting
Center of Congregation Shaarey
Zedek. There is a charge. For
more information or to register,
call Sandy Loeffler at the

Beresh at the Parenting Center

Temple Israel
Support Group

Temple Israel will offer a family
support group for caretakers of
family members dealing with a
physical illness that is chronic
and/or terminal.
The facilitators are Dr. Max-
ine Grumet and Laurel Gabe,
psychotherapists.
The group will meet on Tues-
days from 7:30-9 p.m. on March
7 and 21; April 4, 18, 25; May 2-
9-16. Call Barbara Berlin at the
temple to register, 661-5700.
