Last year, Jewish Information Service
put 176 people in touch with the Jewish Vocational
Service to help them with their employment needs.
Jewish Information Service answers questions
on a variety of topics and links people in need to
helping agencies.
Have a question? Get an answer at JIS,
967-HELP (4357); 967-0460 7. JIS is a program of the
Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit.
JARC, 2066 Franklin Road, Southfield, provides a residential environ-
ment and related support services to adults with developmental disabili-
ties. This allows clients to learn about and experience Jewish life and
maximize their independence. JARC needs volunteers to develop relation-
ships with clients; to maintain telephone contacts with clients; and/or to
use their special skills in a group home, i.e. act as an art teacher, lead
songs, etc. The estimated time commitment is one to one and one half
hours every other week.
