GREAT ACCELERATION.

PLANNING A

WINTER

ed John A. Ziegler Jr., former
president and CEO of the Na-
tional Hockey League, and David
Potts, vice president and gener-
al counsel of the Detroit Lions.
Ms. User, who graduates De-
troit College of Law this spring,
received her master's degree in
sports administration from
Wayne State University last
month.
Currently, Ms. User serves as
the athletic marketing manager
with the University of Detroit
men's and women's basketball
teams. Some of her past intern-
ships have included marketing
and broadcasting positions with
the Detroit Pistons, and work with
the Detroit Drive and media rela-
tions with World Cup Soccer.
She dreams of becoming an
agent for professional athletes —
a goal, she said, that is not very

realistic because there are few op-
portunities.
Her immediate plans include
pursuing a job in marketing pro-
fessional athletes.
"I'm really trying to keep all
my options open," she said.
Mr. Cherrin admits his aspi-
rations are visionary as well. He
fantasizes about becoming the
next media mogul like Brandon
Tartikoff, or a protege of Michael
Eisner, the CEO of the Walt Dis-
ney Co.
Much of his energy is focused
on passing the state bar exam. In
April, he plans to move to Cali-
fornia to take the bar and look for
a job in the entertainment in-
dustry.
"I could be an attorney, but
that's boring," Mr. Cherrin said.
"I want to do something that's
practical and fun." El

"People look at it as desper-

them, but I know people who
have and found husbands. If
you use them and find a
mate, that's great."
