The Adat Shalom Nursery School
will gather for "It's Almost Shab-
bat," a special musical program
and model Shabbat dinner Jan.
25. At 6 p.m. the youngsters will
begin with a music/dance pro-
gram, followed by the berakhot
over the candles, wine and
challah.

Members of youth groups in the
Metro Jewish community in-
cluding: NFTY, USY, NCSY,
BBYO, Young Judaea, Habonim
Dror, Birmingham Temple, Con-
gregation T'chiyah, and other
Jewish teens from around the
community are invited to attend
the annual Robert Kornwise Ju-
daica Weekend.
Participants will leave by bus
from the Agency for Jewish Ed-
ucation in Southfield. The pro-
gram will be held at Camp
Tamarack Feb. 3 through 5. This
weekend brings Jewish teens to-
gether to learn about each other,
to participate in informal Jewish
education and to have fun with
fellow Jewish teens. The theme
of the weekend, "We'll Put the
Pieces Together," will focus on
the bonds shared by all Jewish
teens, as well as an understand-
ing and acceptance of the differ-
ences.
The weekend is subsidized
through the Robert Ian Kornwise
Memorial Fund of Adat Shalom
Synagogue and by the Agency for
Jewish Education and the Fresh
Air Society. There is a fee. For in-

Mid-Winter
Fun Day Set
"A Wildlife Encounter with
Michigan Wetlands Animals,"
presented by the Michigan
United Conservation Clubs, will
be the highlight of Yeshivas
Darchei Torah's annual Mid-Win-
ter Fun Day Jan. 25 at the for-
mer United Hebrew Schools
building, 21550 W. 12 Mile Rd.
from 1-4 p.m.
Showtimes will be 1:30 for 1st
and 3rd graders, and 2:30 for 4th
to 7th graders. Arts and crafts
projects, wildlife and adventure
films, and games and competi-
tions for children of all ages will
be featured. The community is in-
vited. There is a charge.
