NEW PATRONS

This year, Temple Israel's an-
nual wine-tasting event on
March 11 will be preceded by a
patron event Feb. 28 at Shopping
Center Market on Haggerty
Road. Larry and Carole
Miller, Helen and Charlie
Kaye and Carolyn and
Steven Marks are co-chairmen
of the patron event. At the pa-
tron evening, there will be spe-
cial wines, appetizers and
entertainment. "It's very excit-
ing because all of the money
raised will go to our caring com-
munity and social action groups
which benefit the entire com-
munity," explained Larry Miller.
Tickets to the patron benefit will
also include admission to the
March 11 event at the temple.
For more information, call Tem-
ple Israel at 661-5700.

AND EARLY BIRD DINNERS

The conflict between decency and
corruption is set into motion in
George Bernard Shaw's Mrs.
Warren's Profession on the
Hilberry stage Jan. 27 through
April 6. The story centers on the
relationship between Mrs. War-
ren and her daughter, Vivie, an
intelligent and self-sufficient
young woman who learns the
horrible truth of how her mother
rose from poverty to riches.
It will play in rotating reper-
tory. Performances are scheduled
Thursday, Friday and Saturday
evenings at 8 p.m. with matinees
on Wednesdays and Saturdays
at 2 p.m. For tickets and infor-
mation call the box office, (313)
577-2972.
