me, it is more painful for us the
survivors than you who must
hear about it. It is a plague and
it must be dealt with just as we
- would deal with any insidious
thing which was killing off our
young people.
What can be done? Michigan's
Crime Victim's Rights Act is a
good first step, and more judges
like Edward Sosnick must be put
into position. But there also must
be in the attitude of the public at
large a sense of moral outrage.
The same kind of outrage that is
felt by my wife and I when the
--person we believe killed Todd is
set free for "lack of evidence." An
important component is the in-
stituting of the death penalty in
those states that don't have it
and the limiting of appeals to
two, one state and one federal.
To those who are against the
death penalty or think that it is
somehow inhumane, I would tell
you this: put yourselves in the
shoes of the survivors who are
also victims. The day that my son
. __at work, I found
didn't show_up
his body in his home. He was in
bed clad in his pajamas. He had
been bludgeoned in the head and
stabbed several times. His body
and face were covered with gore
and his beautiful brown eyes
were open and staring, his lips
pulled back in a silent scream.
If the above is too graphic for
you, I am sorry. It is a picture I
must live with for the rest of my
life. It is a picture I would like
murderer sympathizers to also
live with and to the rest of you, I
say, remember me, remember
Todd and help us to turn aside
this plague of murder.

Tallit Conflict
Is Resolved

Amsterdam (JTA) - A conflict
over the right of women to wear
tallitot during services at the Lib-
eral Jewish Congregation here
has been resolved with a com-
promise.
The conflict, which became a
subject of local media reports,
arose recently when several
women, most of them newcomers
to the congregation, began wear-
ing a tallit,
At first, the women were left
alone. But when more women fol-
lowed their example, a majority
)f the congregation's members
3omplained,
Rabbi David Lilienthal, the
spiritual leader of the congrega-
tion, eventually reached a corn-
promise: Women will be allowed
to wear tallitot during services,
he ruled, but those who wish to
do so must first explain their rea-
sons to him.
