Susan Stefansky has stressed singles
and adoptions with her fledgling
agency.

Connections

The new Jewish Family Services of Washtenaw County is a one-woman agency
that is emphasizing getting people together.

ebecca, a 30-year-old sin-
gle woman from Ann Ar-
bor, was looking to meet a
male Jewish companion.
Having moved to Michigan from
Minnesota last year, she was hav-
ing difficulty meeting eligible
mates her age. But all that

changed when she learned about
LINCS, Ann Arbm's first Jewish
introduction service that connects
singles from the Jewish commu-
nities of nearby parts of Ohio, the
Detroit area and Ann Arbor.
"It seemed all the men I would
meet were either under 21 years

old or married with children, and
since I have a demanding job, I
have limited social outlets," said
Rebecca, who works for a large
marketing firm. '1 was very hap-
py to hear about this service. So
far, I have dated three different
Jewish men and talked to a few

others on the phone. Even though
there have been no love connec-
tions, the men have all been in-
teresting and it's wonderful
having this opportunity."
LINCS, which is an aconym for
Limitless Introductions Nominal
Confidential for Singles, is one of

the Jewish Family Services of
Washtenaw County's new pro-
grams, and according to director
Susan Sefansky, it has generated
interest and fulfills a tremendous
need.
"We started this program in
April and already have had over
30 people sign up," she said.
"Most of our applicants have
never been married and are in
their late 30s and early 40s,
although we would like to
broaden our age range.
"At first we were matching
singles from Ann Arbor with sin-
