from various civil rights and com-
munity groups. The community
is welcome to attend.
Breakfast attendees are asked

of Dr. King's many speeches and
writings, and should be prepared
to meet some new friends during

Sports Night
Features Rockers

Food, fun, prizes and a visit from
the Rockers will be on the agen-
da Jan. 16 when Temple Beth
El's Brotherhood hosts its annu-
al Sports Night. Highlight of the
festivities, open to Temple fami-
lies and the community, will be a
visit with Brian "The Goose"
Finnerty and Sean Bowers of the
Rockers, Detroit's premier soccer
team.
A hot dog dinner at 6 p.m. will
be followed by games and prizes
for every child in attendance.
Each child will also receive a free
admission ticket to the Jan. 21
match between the Rockers and
the Chicago Power. Jan. 21 has
been designated Beth El Night at
Cobo Arena and adults will be
able to share in the evening with
their children; they may purchase
two for one tickets at the Rock-
er ticket table at Sports Night.
There is a charge for the din-

Professor Raymond Tanter of the
University of Michigan will speak
at a community-wide forum on
the topic, "Terrorism: Weapon of
the Weak," 8 p.m. Jan. 18 at the
Maple/Drake Jewish Communi-
ty Center, sponsored by the
American Jewish Committee, De-
troit Chapter. It is hoped that the
public will increase its under-
standing of international terror-
ism as a tool for weak groups to
make its mark against stronger
opponents.
Professor Raymond Tanter is
an expert in American foreign
policy, national security affairs
and the Arab-Israeli conflict.

To celebrate Tu B'Shevat, the
Jewish Arbor Day, Jan. 16, the
PTA of Yeshivas Darchei Torah
will be selling assortments of 15
varieties of dried fruit and fan-
cy nuts. To insure availability, or-
ders should be placed by Jan. 10.

Blood Drive
At Kol Ami

The American Jewish Commit-
tee, Detroit Chapter and the De-
troit Urban League, Inc. boards
of directors will host a special "All
Peoples—Visions and Dreams"
breakfast Jan. 16 at 8 a.m. at the
Urban League's main office, 208
Mack Avenue, Detroit. This pro-
gram is in honor of the late Dr.

The sisterhood of Temple Kol
Ami will sponsor a blood drive on
Jan. 17 from 2-8 p.m. at the tem-
ple. The Red Cross will handle all
procedures.
