The idea for the museum came tell the past, present and future
from a 1987 meeting of the Na- story of the Corvette. The Foun-

Exhibit Works captures the
fascination of this automobile
with interesting displays. The
first exhibits are in a nostalgic
area. To capture the spirit of
the time, Exhibit Works created
a vintage barbershop with a
red and white barber pole.
Parked outside is a 1953
Corvette. The barbershop is
modeled after the one owned by
Detroiter Alex Silvio, who is the
uncle of Exhibit Works President
Dominic Silvio. Authentic gas
pumps from past eras add to the
scene.
Another full-scale diorama in-
cludes a Corvette assembly line
and begins with designers'
sketches of Corvettes. For the
Corvette racer, there is a perfor-
mance area with a giant mural
of racing vignettes. The largest
area features Corvettes on dis-
play in a park-like setting. The
one-millionth Corvette, made in
1992, also is on display.
Throughout the museum, his-
tory and memorabilia are woven
in the displays. And on one wall,
not in a prominent position,
there's a photo of architect Ken
Neumann, his wife Beverly, and
his 1960 Corvette. El
