SOUTHFIELD Providing our
residents with the highest
quality of care possible is a
"group effort" at Menorah
House. We would like to
extend our gratitude to
those who assist us in our
endeavor! A special thank
you to our Medical Director
Dr. Raymond Weitzman.
Menorah House would also
like to recognize those that
make our job of providing
care a little easier: Diversi-
fied Rehabilitation Services,
The Nursing Home Group
and Specialized Pharmacy.
We are grateful for the ser-
vices they provide to the
long-term care community.

Long-Term Care
Insurance

Policies to cover the cost of
nursing home care — which can
be thousands of dollars a month
— are usually separate from any
other health insurance plan. For

Guide to Long-Tenn Care Insur-
ance," write to Health Insurance

if You're Truly Broke

If you believe you can't afford
health care insurance period,
Matthew Lesko has written a
guide on "What To Do When You
Can't Afford Health Care" )(In-
formation USA). He lists sources,
such as community clinics, where
you can get free treatment and

even hospitalization. He also sug-
gests that you might avail your-
self of clinical trials, funded by
government grants — become a
doctor's guinea pig and get treat-
ment for hundreds of ailments for
free.
"Government offices can help
you locate the best doctors and
help identify the most efficient
hospitals," Lesko offers.
He also lists sources for free
publications and books on thou-
sands of diseases.
But health insurance remains
an important safeguard for most
families. Do some homework and
study your choices to make sure
you're not paying more than you
need to, and that you're getting
the coverage that will give you
better sleep at night. 111

Presidential
Physiques

Political supporters built a track
at the White House for avid jog-
ger Bill Clinton, but he still
prefers to do his morning runs
through the streets of the nation's
capital. George Bush also jogged.
Franklin Roosevelt, John
Kennedy and Gerald Ford all
swam to stay in shape. Harry
Truman walked two miles every
morning.
