daism. It is open to the
community, and all are invited
to participate. There is a two-
tiered tuition fee, which includes
books and other study materi-
als. Members of B'nai Moshe will
pay the lower of the two fees.
N'siah is designed to help
adult learners set and achieve
new Jewish goals for them-
selves, including (a) being a Jew-
ish role model for their children,
(b) feeling more at home in the
synagogue, and (c) exploring
Conservative Judaism. The pro-
gram is appropriate for all adult
learners, whether Jewish by
birth or through conversion. It
is a vehicle for those who wish
to have an adult bar/bat mitz-
vah celebration as part of a syn-
agogue service, but it also offers
a solid adult Jewish study cur-
riculum for people who did have
a bar/bat mitzvah and want to
keep on learning.
Among the synagogue skills
that will be taught as part of the
N'siah curriculum are: (a) chant-
ing Torah and Haftorah, (b) giv-
ing a D'var Torah, and (c)
leading parts of the service.
Learning to read and under-
stand prayerbook Hebrew is a
basic feature of the N'siah pro-
gram. While some Hebrew read-
ing ability is helpful, all levels,

including total beginners, are
welcome to participate and will
be accommodated.
N'siah is open to the commu-
nity. B'nai Moshe will host a spe-
cial "To Sh'ma (Come and
Learn)" orientation and info ses-
sion about N'siah Jan. 8 at 9:30
a.m. Rabbi Pachter and Mrs.
Abramsom will give a preview
of the N'siah curriculum and an-
swer questions from prospective
students.
For information, call Rabbi El-
liot Pachter or Mrs. Rita Abram-
son, 788-0600.
