Art Program
At Maple/Drake

Single Jewish mothers and
friends are invited to an evening
of art and discussion sponsored
by the Institute for Single Jew-
ish Mothers Jan. 10 from 7-9 p.m.
in the Janice Charach Epstein
Museum Gallery at the Maple/
Drake Jewish Community Cen-
ter.
The program, "Art Is All About
Us," will feature the drawings
and paintings of Samuel Bak who
explores his Jewish experiences
and identity through Surrealism,
as well as other expressive styles
of art. The evening will include a
docent tour as well as opportuni-
ty for single Jewish mothers to
socialize and network. Kosher re-
freshments also will be provided.
Child care is being offered, upon
,0 request, for children ages 3 and
up. There is no charge for the
event or for child care.
The Institute for Single Jew-
ish Mothers is a program of Jew-
ish Experiences for Families
working to empower, educate and
integrate single Jewish mothers
and their famlies into the Jewish
community of metropolitan De-
troit. It is a recipient of the Jew-
ish Federation's Max M. Fisher

Auxiliary
Meeting Set

The Department of Michigan
Ladies Auxiliary of the Jewish
War Veterans will conduct its
meeting Jan. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at
the JWV Memorial Home.
Chairmen will give reports on
the visit of the National President
and the servicing at the Veterans
Hospitals. Lipshaw-Hoberman
Auxiliary will provide the re-

`Stags, Hens'
Benefit Set

Oakland University's student
production of Stags and Hens
has been chosen for the presti-
gious American College Theatre
Festival's Region III Festival Jan.
10-15 in Green Bay, Wis.
A benefit performance to de-
fray costs of the trip will be held
Jan. 9 at 8 p.m. in Varner Studio
Theatre. Tickets are available in
advance, call (810) 370-2035; or
at the door the evening of the per-
formance.
The salty English comedy is
set in men's and women's loos.
