The Maple/Drake Jewish Corn-
munity Center will present the
following: on Dec. 28 at 10:30
a.m., in conjunction with Gener-
ations Together "Me & My
Grandchild" series, Corinne
Stavich will conduct Storytime,
to offer hints on how to create
your own stories. Refreshments
will be served after the perfor-
mance, which is recommended
for age 4 and older. There is a
charge.
The Lunch and Learn Series
will feature, on Jan. 4 at Noon-
for lunch and 12:30-lecture,
Ernest DuMochelle who will con-
duct an Antique Appraisal Work-
shop . Bring one item for
appraisal. Bring a kosher lunch

The Fresh Air Society and the
Midrasha Center for Adult Jew-
ish Learning will offer seven
week-long Elderhostel programs
from Sunday to Friday, beginning
June 11, June 25, July 9, July 23,
Aug. 6, Aug. 20, and Sept. 10, at
Butzel Conference Center. The
food service is glatt kosher, and
the double occupancy rooms have
private baths. The facility over-
looks a lake, and the housing, din-
ing, and classrooms are all
located close to each other and
are barrier free.
Three academic topics are of-
fered each week. Among them
are Primo Levi and the New
Bible; Arthur Miller: Jewish
American Playwright, Spirits and
Spirituality; Strangers and Set-
tlers: Contemporary American
Jewish Writers; the Birth of
Monotheism; People and Fami-
lies in the Bible: A Literary Ex-
ploration; the Root and the
Branches: A History of Jewish
Christian Relations; Stresses on
America's Democratic Values; the
Clinton Administration: An Up-
date; and the Theory and Prac-
