can edit their own videos
and produce broadcast-quality
productions at a fraction of the
cost of professional editing com-
panies.
"It's a lot faster and easier and
it doesn't cause wear and tear on
your (VCR deck) heads," he says.
"You've got all the tools that a reg-
ular Hollywood producer has for
a lot less money."
Having training is almost as
essential as having the proper
tools. So Slipped Disk offers train-
ing sessions in its editing suites,
where Mr. Moskow says profes-
sionals can teach a lay user to
master simple video edits and ef-
fects in about an hour.
The editing suites are also
available for renting on an hourly
basis.
"It's a fun thing to be involved
in, that's for sure," says Ian
Swanwick, who manages the

store and provides its technical
support.
A West Bloomfield resident,
Mr. Moskow founded Slipped
Disk in 1982 and introduced
metro Detroit's first computer
club and user counseling center.
In 1986, Mr. Moskow started
Michigan's first multimedia cen-
ter, allowing club members and
small-to-large companies the op-
portunity to utilize a host of state-
of-the-art desktop publishing and
video editing technology.
Mr. Moskow became fascinat-
ed with personal computer tech- '
nology while working as a district
general manager for ADT Secu-
rity Systems in New York City
for 11 years.
He recognized the need for
good computer support after be-
ing transferred to Michigan, and
he subsequently founded Slipped
Disk. ❑

Two oil companies, Amoco of the
United States and the Egyptian-
based affiliate of Italy's ENI
group, are setting up a joint ven-
ture with Egypt Gas to build a
natural gas pipeline to the Israeli
border, company officials said.
Both companies participated
in last month's Jerusalem Busi-
ness Conference.
The new company still needs
approval from the Egyptian gov-
ernment's General Investment
Organization, but a company of-
ficial said he expects the first gas
to flow to the Gaza Strip or Israel
in late 1998 or early 1999.
At later stages, extensions
would take the gas to Jericho,

Haifa and Lebanon, said the offi-
cial.
Each of the three companies
will have a one-third stake in the
pipeline, which will carry gas pro-
duced in northeastern Egypt by
Amoco and the International
Egyptian Oil Company (IEOC),
the joint venture between ENI
and the state-owned Egyptian
General Petroleum Corporation,
the official added.
The plan to set up the compa-
ny is the clearest sign yet that
Egyptian gas exports to Israel will
go ahead after months of talks be-
tween officials of the two govern-
ments.
