Will Gather

Young adults will gather at
8 p.m. Nov. 29 at the Old Wood-
ward Grill in Birmingham for
the monthly Jewish Federa-
tion of Metropolitan Detroit
Young Adult Division "Bar
Night."
The event is for adults age 21-

Torah Study
Session Set

Rabbi Aaron Bergman will lead
the Conservative Movement's
Torah Study Dec. 1. He will ex-
amine the biblical portion Miketz,
Genesis 4:1 - 44:17. The study ses-
sion is open to the community at
large and is held from 12:30 - 1:30
p.m. in the first floor Butzel Con-
ference Suite, at the Jewish Fed-
eration Building, 6735 Telegraph
Road.
The study group is sponsored
jointly by the Jewish Theological
Seminary, Michigan Region Unit-
ed Synagogue of Conservative Ju-
daism and the Michigan Region
Rabbinical Assembly.

New Programs
In Hebrew

The Midrasha Center for Adult
Jewish Learning is planning new
adult Hebrew learning opportu-
nities in a variety of formats.
The proposed programs are
contingent on minimum enroll-
ment. Complimentary preview
sessions will be offered to give
prospective students an oppor-
tunity to evaluate which class is
right for them.
Midrasha plans a weekly, one-
hour brown bag lunch and learn
beginner conversational Hebrew
class taught by Tziona Ragowsky
and a weekday morning two-
hour beginner conversational He-
brew class with Ahuva Newman.
There will also be an evening
two-hour class every other Mon-
day night.
The agency also is investigat-
ing developing an audio tape
and home-study workbook, to be
produced by Midrasha's director
of Hebrew programming, Nira
Lev. '
New students are also wel-
come in. Midrasha's ongoing adult
Hebrew classes. Most will start
their second semester in Janu-
ary.
