The Holocaust Memorial Cen-
ter has included young adults in
its docent training session. A
docent guides tour groups
through the HMC and explains
the exhibits. Training lasts sev-
eral weeks but can be tailored to
meet a participant's needs.
Talk to anyone who volunteers
and the response is almost al-
ways overwhelmingly positive.
"Knowing I've had an oppor-
tunity to make a difference in a
person's life is the single great-
est accomplishment," Mr. Gut-

• Temples and synagogues often
have young adult or singles
groups for members and non-
members. On Nov. 27, the Adat
Shalom Synagogue Social Action
Committee will hold its first
event for single adults. The event
is open to all single community
members. Call Kadima Levadi
at 661-1667 for information and
check with your synagogue or
temple.
• Shaarey Zedek also has a
young adult group for married
and unmarrieds between the
ages of 22-37. Call the synagogue
at 357-5544.
• B'nai B'rith Youth Organiza-
tion advisers work with a chap-
ter of between 12 and 35 teens,
supervising their meetings and
programming. For information,
call the office at 788-0700.
• Jewish Family Service offers a
variety of volunteer opportuni-
ties. For information, call Car-
olyn Davidson at 559-1500.
• Holocaust Memorial Center of-
fers a docent training session.
